August News Letter Garner Lodge 701

Brethren,
July has been another successful and exciting month. We were
able to participate in the July 4th celebration at Lake Benson again
this year which provided us an excellent opportunity for community awareness
and I thank all of those who helped with a special thanks to family members who
were recruited on the spot. We would like to encourage everyone to come next
year and make it family event for lodge if we can.
The picnic at M.E.S.H. in Greensboro again was a success
due to the extra effort put forth by Ken Hartman and Jim Talaska along with
Dave Milidonis, Gerald Edwards, and a few other individuals who made sure that
even though it was not an official project this year that the tradition
continued. It has become something they look forward to very much and would
surely be missed.
We also received special dispensation for Garner 701 to
have a lodge meeting at the home and Brother Jim Talaska did the honors as
Master. After the Lodge meeting Brother
Ken Hartman presented Brother Bill Picket with his lifetime membership and also
thanked Helen Picket for all her support for Bill and Masonry.

Entertainment was provided with the Pink Lodge Play, which
everyone seemed to enjoy very much along with some very good food.
We also presented Brother Earl Purser with a life
membership award and past master certificate at the last meeting this month and
thanked Brother Earl for his many contributions to the fraternity.
Our candidate should be ready for the next degree by the
26th so please come if you can.
The can bin continues to fill so thanks to those who bring
them by, between the cans and Randy’s extra contributions it’s adding up so
keep them coming please.
Fraternally
Greg Ray
