July News Letter Garner Lodge 701

Brethren,
If you did not get the newsletter last
month I apologize. The machine at the post office read the lodge letterhead and
sent several letters back to the post office box. I had re-mailed some of them
with stamps and a few me of those came back again also. Hopefully moving the
return address will help.
Our last meeting was a
little low on attendance but we had lot to discuss. The 4th is coming and we have been asked again to
participate in the celebration at Lake Benson on July 3rd, and are working on getting that together.
The lodges in the 15 Masonic district is
having the picnic again this year at M.E.S.H. and the Oxford Home for Children
so please plan to come if you can. The M.E.S.H picnic is on July 10th and the Masonic Home for Children picnic will
be on the 28th of August. Brother
Randy is trying to coordinate a baseball game between the children at the home
and his son’s team in Garner and should be a great activity for us all.
While we are listing activities, please
plan on attending the Masonic Home for Children on June 26th, St John’s Day.
Many thanks again to Randy and his family
for a great meal before the meeting. Randy’s efforts with the cans are paying
off too so thanks for all who have brought them to the lodge and keep it up
please.
Thanks to Brother Jimmy Stevens for a very
informative presentation on The Masonic Funeral for our Masonic Education. It
reminded us all that we need to make sure if that’s something we want it’s not
a bad idea to have that documented some where with all of our Masonic History
included also.
Our candidate should be ready for the last
meeting this month so please come if you can.
Fraternally
Greg Ray
