September News Letter Garner Lodge 701
Brethren,
September as usual is
going to be a very busy month. We have begun to discuss the proposed amendments
to the code and will continue discussions in the next meetings prior to the
Grand Lodge meeting September 24th
and 25th..
We have copies of those proposals available at the lodge if anyone wants a
copy.
The Grand Master will
visit the 13th
District on September 14th
at Butner Lodge #697 and all are invited so please come if you can.
The sporting clays fun
shoot is also this month at Deep River Gun in Moncure. Contact Brother Randy
Williams if you have any questions and please help us make this another
successful event for the charities.
Brother Jim Talaska
has asked if anyone would like to be a Pen Pal in support of the troops over
seas please let him know.
We would also like to
congratulate Brother Fletcher Clay on his promotion and send best wishes from
the lodge.
August was also a sad
month for us as the role of Brother Bill Picket was read and a moment of
silence as observed in his honor. Brother Bill served Garner lodge and Masonry
faithfully for many years and we will miss him very much. The lodge also sends
it’s condolences to Sister Helen and the family as well.
I would also like to
thank those who participated in the clean up day on Saturday. We cleaned the
kitchen, refrigerator, freezer, stove, cabinets, and closet and mopped and
waxed the floor in the dining room. We also will be discussing ideas on how to
keep it clean next meeting and need to schedule another day for some repairs
and cleaning for both upstairs and down.
Thanks again for all
the support this year.
Fraternally
Greg Ray
