August 2002 Newsletter
Brethren,
Tidings from the East. We had our last stated communication on July 8th. We enjoyed the traditional Independence Day meal of hamburgers and hot dogs. Many thanks to the chef’s crew and to Kathy Talaska for the delicious deserts. Also we’d like to give a special thanks to Tommy Rich of Vandora Lodge for helping cook the burgers.
After the dinner, we had our stated communication and the business of the Lodge was transacted. We enjoyed a very informative Masonic education presented by Brother Jimmy Stevens. The subject was George Washington’s Inaugural bible.
I’d like to thank all the brothers and their families who attended St. John’s Day. There was wonderful food, fellowship and a great parade. A good time was had by all.
We appreciate everyone’s attendance at M.E.S.H. in Greensboro on July 13,2002, for our annual District 15 BBQ. I hope you all enjoyed the food and took the time to tour the facilities.
Please remember to be present at Vandora Lodge on August 1st to help us recapture the gavel.
Dinner and raffle tickets for the auction have been printed. These can be obtained from Brother Jim Talaska for anyone who’s interested.
In closing, I’d like to say, “Thank you for all your support and fellowship. We are now half way through this year. Keep up the good work!”
Fraternally,
Ricky Marcom
