July 2002 Newsletter
Brethren,
Tidings from the East. We had our last stated communication on June 10th. We enjoyed a fantastic meal of BBQ ribs, mashed potatoes, and trimmings, along with some wonderful apple crisp and ice cream. Many thanks to the chef’s crew.
After the dinner, we had a short business meeting with 12 visitors from the Cary Lodge. They successfully seized the gavel. We had several late arrivals from William T. Bain Lodge, but to no avail, the lodge was closed.
Please remember to put St. John’s Day on your calendars on June 29th. Please try to attend. There will be great food, fellowship and entertainment by the Embers.
We would love to see a record particiation at M.E.S.H. in Greensboro on July 13,2002, when we have our annual District 15 BBQ. Everyone please try to attend. If you’ve never visited, it would be a worthwhile trip…remember brothers, this is your home too.
Congratulations to Ken Hartman for the latest website award. You can check out the awards at www.garnerlodge701.org.
Dinner and raffle tickets for the auction have been printed. These can be obtained from brother Jim Talaska for anyone who’s interested.
In closing, I’d like to say, “Thank you for all your support and fellowship. We are heading towards a great year. Keep up the good work!”
Fraternally,
Ricky Marcom
