May 2002 Newsletter
Brethren,
Tidings from the East. We had our last stated communication on April 8th. We enjoyed a fantastic meal of meat loaf, creamed potatoes and peas along with a wonderful homemade cheese cake. Many thanks to the chef’s crew and Cathy Talaska. After the dinner, we had a record attendance of 53 people at our meeting. The tremendous attendance was due to the fact that we had possession of the traveling gavel.
We converged on William T. Bain Lodge with 11 brothers on April 1st and brought the gavel home. On April 8th at our stated communication, Vandora Lodge took the gavel from us with 18 brothers strong, led by worshipful brother Steve Langdon. Cary Lodge put up a galant effort with 12 brothers, but that was a futile attempt against Vandora.
Our Bible returned home, thanks to brother Charlie Jones, who had it rebound for us. Thank you brother Charlie.
All Officers should plan to attend the District 15 Schools of Instruction on April 25th at Masters Lodge – 1520 Caswell Street and on April 29th at Charles B. Newcomb Lodge. All other members are welcome to attend as well.
Brethren, please keep in mind the District 15 Meeting with the Grand Master at Master’s Lodge on April 18, 2002 and please plan to attend.
On May 4, 2002, we will have a District 15 Project at the Masonic Children’s Home in Oxford. We will be serving the meal and need everyone’s participation. Hope to see you all there!
On May 11, 2002, Amran Temple will be hosting a dinner for all Masters of Lodges to be held at the temple on Creedmoor Rd. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. After dinner, there will be entertainment and a program covering Shrine activities. Other members and their guests are invited to attend at a cost of $10.00 per person. Please contact Andy Adams at 919-269-8938 or Burg Pearson at 919-863-6443 to R.S.V.P.
In closing, I’d like to say, “Thank you for all your support and fellowship. We are heading towards a great year. Keep up the good work!”
Fraternally,
Ricky Marcom
