November 2002 Newsletter
Brethren,
Tidings from the East. We had our last stated communication on October 14th. We enjoyed a terrific meal of steak, baked potatoes, rolls, salad, and delicious pound cake for our Past Masters’ Meal. Many thanks to the chef’s crew. Also, a special thanks to Tommy Rich of Vandora Lodge for the use of his cooker to prepare these wonderful steaks.
After the dinner, we had our stated communication and the business of the Lodge was transacted. We discussed some of the changes at Grand Lodge and some of the things that were voted on. It has been ruled that 18 year olds are now eligible to become Master Masons.
I’d like to extend a special thanks to Brother Greg Ray for replacing the hot water heater and repairing the plumbing at our lodge.
A great time was had by all at our charity auction and we feel that it was a success. Total contributions to our charities will be disclosed in our next newsletter.
I’d like to send a special thanks to the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 321 for recognition of our lodge. They sent a $100 donation to the Oxford Childrens Home in the name of our lodge, in lieu of our annual dinner.
I’d also like to extend a special thanks to those who attended the Schools of Instruction on September 26th and 30th.
At our next stated communication on October 28th, we will have a second degree. Please try to attend.
In closing, I’d like to say, “Thank you for all your support and fellowship. It is all of you who are making my year as Master so successful. Keep up the good work!”
Fraternally,
Ricky Marcom
Master
Garner Lodge 701
