September 2002 Newsletter
Brethren,
Tidings from the East. We had our last stated communication on August 12th. We enjoyed a terrific meal of chicken, rice with gravy, corn, salad, rolls and delicious banana pudding. Many thanks to the chef’s crew.
After the dinner, we had our stated communication and the business of the Lodge was transacted. We had many guest in attendance including District Deputy Grand Master and District Deputy Grand Lecturer. We were in possession of the traveling gavel which we had previously captured from Vandora Lodge. We had 6 guest from William T. Bain and 10 guests from Cary Lodge. Cary took the gavel home.
At our next stated communication, we will have a First Degree. I would like for everyone to please plan to attend.
Dinner and raffle tickets for the auction have been printed. These can be obtained from Brother Jim Talaska for anyone who’s interested. The auction will be held at the Garner Optimist Club on September 14th. A BBQ dinner will be served at 5:00 p.m. and the auction will begin at 6:00 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Masonic Charities and tickets are $15.00 per person which includes meal and admission to the auction. The raffle tickets for the Holland Grill are also available. Tickets are $1.00 and the prize will be awarded the night of the auction.
In closing, I’d like to say, “Thank you for all your support and fellowship. We are now over half way through this year. Keep up the good work!”
Fraternally,
