October 2002 Newsletter
Brethren,
Tidings from the East. We had our last stated communication on September 9th. We enjoyed a terrific meal of pork, mashed potatoes, green peas, salad, rolls and delicious banana pudding. Many thanks to the chef’s crew.
After the dinner, we had our stated communication and the business of the Lodge was transacted. We had many guests in attendance as our group of worthy brothers had captured the traveling gavel from Vandora Lodge last week. We had a large number of brothers from the Cary Lodge and the Fuquay Lodge. Mysteriously, before the gavel was surrendered, Cary Lodge asked to be excused one by one. So the traveling gavel was awarded to the Fuquay Lodge who had 8 members present with an honorary Bill Hare. Brethren, this is what Masonry is all about.
By the time you receive this newsletter, our charity auction will be over. I hope you all attended and had a great time!
Please remember to attend our next School of Instruction on September 26th at Garner Lodge and on September 30th at Apex Lodge.
In closing, I’d like to say, “Thank you for all your support and fellowship. We are now over half way through this year. Keep up the good work!”
Fraternally,
Ricky Marcom
Master
Garner Lodge 701
