April 2003 Newsletter
Words from the East......
I continue to be thankful for the increasing attendance and
participation at our stated communications. At our March 10th meeting we
enjoyed another delicious meal with banana pudding and good fellowship for
dessert. Both desserts were good. The lodge was opened and business transacted.
We accepted a report from the audit committee and gave approval. Worshipful
Brother Lee Phillips was presented an award for his many hours of work on the
newsletter. Brother Barry Tucker reported good progress on the upcoming golf
tournament. The Lodge voted to sponsor a little league team, as an effort to be
more visible in our community. At our next stated communication, we will have
several proposals for "golf" type shirts embroidered with our lodge
identification. Hopefully, we will also have two more estimates on the heat and
air for downstairs. I offered up several other ideas for discussion in an
effort to clear our plates on suggestions made when I became Master. They were
properly discussed but there is nothing else planned at this time. Please take
the time to call or visit our sick and homebound members. Worshipful Brother
Jimmy Stevens has done an outstanding job on Masonic Education thus far . We
will continue to have good programs and the invitation is still out to
anyone who may wish to do a program. The April 14 meal will be
"evening breakfast" with a full breakfast menu. The March 10th
meal raised $105.00 for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and
proceeds from the April meal will also go towards that event. I am proud and
honored to be your Master. RONNIE
