January 2003 Newsletter                    

 

 

 

Brethren,

 

Tidings from the East.  We had our last stated communication on December 9th.  We enjoyed a wonderful meal of black angus roast, mashed potatoes, corn, salad, and rolls, and a delicious red velvet cake.   The chef’s crew really out did themselves.

 

We had 17 lovely fruit baskets to take to our widows and as of this week they had all been delivered.  Thanks to all those who helped to deliver these baskets.

 

During our business meeting, we voted on officers for 2003.  Brother Ronnie Williams will be our new Master for the upcoming year.  The other elected officers are Greg Ray as Senior Warden, Ken Hartman as Junior Warden, Myron Staton as Treasurer, and John Tawney as Secretary.  Other officers for the upcoming year will be appointed at the installation ceremony by Master Ronnie Williams.  Our open installation ceremony will be held on January 11, 2003.  The lodge will open at 1:30 p.m. and the installation will begin at 2:00 p.m. 

 

I would like to thank all the brothers who have supported me in my efforts and made this a rewarding year for me and our lodge.  This has been a very rewarding experience that has helped me grow personally and one that I will not soon forget.  We are blessed to have a lodge full of so many active past masters with so much experience and knowledge.  We have a great line of officers with the potential to make Garner Lodge more well known and respected than it already is. 

 

I would like to challenge the 2003 officers to treat each other with the respect and brotherly love that this great fraternity of Masonry is based on and to try to be a shining example to everyone.   May the coming year be prosperous and rich with Masonic knowledge.

 

In closing, there is so much that I would like to say, but words can’t describe this once in a lifetime experience.
