March 2003 Newsletter

Brethren,

One Nation Under God..........

Notice that there is no comma after nation.  Worshipful Brother Roy Harris very appropriately asked us, at a January meeting, to recite the pledge of allegiance without the comma, and we will continue to do that.

Since our last newsletter, we have successfully raised $500.00 for our charities from the Valentine fundraiser on February 10th. .  Special thanks to Jr. Deacon Randy Williams and his family and all those who helped prepare the meal.  Also, many thanks to Brother Tommy Rich for the use of his cooker.

Brother Barry Tucker announced that April 28th. is the date for our second fundraiser.  The Golf Tournament will be that day at Eagle Ridge Golf Course on Old Stage Road.  Please see Brother Barry's separate article in the Newsletter for details.

Most of you know by now that the Lord called my mother home on February 7th..  Her sickness and passing have been a challenge for me and my family.  We will continue to need your support and prayers.

Garner Lodge #701 will hold its First Annual four man superball tournament for the Masonic Home for Children and The Masonic and Eastern Star Home.  Entry fee is $50 per man $200 per team.  The tournament will be held at Eagle Ridge Golf Course on Old Stage Rd.on the 28th of April.  Open to all golfers but limited to the first 30 teams.
