Words from the East......

 

Spring is here and I am excited to report that 21 members were at our April 14 stated communication. Hopefully, the better weather will be a sign of better attendance. At this communication we all witnessed a rare event. Worshipful Brother Jim Setzer presented a 50-year pin to his father on behalf of his Lodge. I ,for one , was greatly honored to be a part of this special event. We also wrote a check to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in the amount of 225.00 This check was presented on Tuesday April 15th.We finalized plans for the "soda sale" at the Garner Celebration on April 25th and 26th and will use that opportunity to promote an open house for prospective members on May 12th at our stated communication. The Brethren in attendance approved the purchase of "golf type" shirts in navy blue with gold lettering and I turned in an order for 16 on the following day. All members may purchase a shirt. If you want one, please call or e-mail me and I will provide you with the ordering information. By the time you read this our first annual golf tournament will be history.
